Coudre is a ceramics studio and postdigital crafts based in Barcelona and composed
by Raul Nieves, Jude Serena and Valeria Ustárez. Their work incorporates digital knowledge into traditional processes. Coudre means weaving; a metaphor, which in their case they solve with movements of a 3D printer, weaving shapes and textures beyond the possibilities of traditional processes. In this workshop Coudre explained how they work with digital tools and
demonstrated 3D clay printing to understand the process and learn about the possible
applications of this technology. Afterwards each participant
was able to customize a vase/pot for a plant, changing the variables that the
programs allows: texture, shape and the variables of the material: color and type of
clay.
